On the pilgrim way: ‘I travel my pilgrim way now as a widow’ - Reform Magazine
Sheila Maxey now travels on as a widow
A new section of my pilgrim way has begun in which I travel as a widow. So many have trod this way before me, but each of us has to find our particular God-given way.
My beginning has been full of blessings. I was preparing for Kees’ death throughout last year and, as he declined in body and mind, I began to actively wait for it and so some of my grieving and letting go had already taken place. He never suffered from pain and was almost always cheerful or at least peaceful. He had such a good death – slipping away while I sat with my evening coffee. I can’t think of any regrets….
