Peter Stevenson on a harp-based initiative in Stamford

Stamford United Reformed Church has introduced a monthly gathering in the chapel under the title Sanctuary. One of the church members, Eleanor Turner (pictured), is an internationally celebrated harpist who offered her musical gifts to the church. We decided to start something new, outside regular Sunday morning worship. The aim was to create a safe space to explore ourselves and matters that matter. It was hoped that Sanctuary would attract those not looking for church but wanting to explore spirituality, listen to great music and reflect on life’s issues. We want it to be a place that gathers people wishing to reflect and consider what it is to be human…
