Sue Walker learns how to trust God
This scripture hit me between the eyes 19 days before my 30-year-old daughter was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in December 2020, during lockdown. Now at some distance, I can look back at what I wrote in my prayer journal and offer reflections which I hope will resonate.
What I’m about to describe may seem a bit dramatic to some, but it is my authentic experience. By December 2020 it was clear that my daughter was unwell and getting worse, but no clear diagnosis had been made. There were tests and there was waiting. We were treading a path that many others have also had to tread: hoping for the best but fearing the worst, trying to carry on as normal but with a constant undercurrent of trepidation and a lurking sense of fear filling up the spaces which confidence and joy used to occupy….
