Paul Dean recalls choppy sea crossings

After six days of bringing order out of chaos God rested but, even so, to find Jesus asleep on a cushion is surprising. It certainly surprised the disciples in the story of the storm on the lake. Jesus is usually to be found teaching, preaching and healing – an activist, not a lounger. But here he is asleep on a cushion in the stern of a boat, at sea during a storm. How could he sleep when the waves of chaos crash over, and the boat is in danger of being swamped?…
