This summer season seems the time for travellers’ tales and photos, and the internet means I am included. A granddaughter and her boyfriend, aged 19, are in southeast Asia for two months. They seem to me like innocents abroad, in their locally bought matching blue cotton outfits and traditional pointed hats. They look so amazed and happy as they wade in water helping to wash and feed an enormous elephant….
