I moved to England from South Africa in 2022 at the age of 14. Moving is very hard, especially if you are moving to a new country with a different culture and not much family there to support you. We had to leave behind friends, family, school, our old church and many familiar things as my mother had been offered a new job in Chester.

We used to attend our church, St Columba’s Presbyterian Church, Johannesburg (pictured), regularly and were very involved with running it. When we moved we were delighted to find a URC church a few metres down the road from us – a big improvement on the 25-minute drive to our church in Johannesburg…
