The wealth of community projects happening at Dursley Tabernacle in Gloucestershire might never have started if it wasn’t for the Covid lockdown. Before the pandemic, the local Marks and Spencer would donate flowers left over at the end of the week to the church for its services. Come lockdown, services stopped and the church had no use for flowers, so the shop asked if they would like surplus food instead. Church members who were on furlough from work collected the food each week and distributed it among families who were facing financial difficulties….
