Sal Bateman explores photography as a way to think about God
The artist Banksy is a master of the art of juxtaposition. The first image here, juxtaposing the dove of peace with the bulletproof vest, is poignant, sited as it is near the Jerusalem/-Bethlehem border crossing. It is a thought-provoking comment on the situation there.
Photographers can use juxtaposition conceptually or compositionally by contrasting two or more elements in the same picture. The second photograph (below right) shows a pedestrian border crossing into Bethlehem from the outskirts of Jerusalem.
