Songs of Faith: Ray Stanyon - Reform Magazine
Ray Stanyon’s sung response to sermons
It would be difficult to be more URC than Ray Stanyon. Son of a URC minister and a URC minister himself, Ray describes himself as ‘born into, baptised in, and brought up by the Congregational/United Reformed Church’. His parents’ faith and church involvement shaped the family ethos. Ray’s mother served as a Junior Church leader and Boys’ Brigade helper, while his father served 20 years as Regional Coordinator for Christian Aid in Ipswich. Ray became a full URC member by profession of faith at Christ Church, Ipswich. Since then, Ray has participated in a variety of church permutations including a house church, an Anglican church, and United Reformed churches ‘of various flavours’. He is now a member at the exciting evangelical ecumenical Peachcroft Christian Centre in Abington, Oxfordshire, and serves the URC’s Wessex Synod as Development and Support Officer….
